It finally happened. Last year’s reigning champion of the most wishlisted game, the Dying Light 2: Stay Human, has been knocked off its top spot by the eagerly awaited Elden Ring.

Elden Ring and Dying Light 2: stay Human are both set to be released in February 2022, but ever since knocking the Cyberpunk 2077 off the most wishlisted games in December 2020, Dying Light has remained the most wished for game throughout the 2021.

Interestingly, just a few weeks before its release, Dying Light 2: Stay Human was taken over by Elden Ring as the most anticipated upcoming PC game.

The creator of the Song of Ice and Fire, televised as The Game of Thrones, George R.R Marting has recently posted on his blog, praising the game as looking ‘incredible’. George R.R Martin has set the narrative for the game’s main storyline, which is already something to be very excited about.

While most From Software’s games are renowned for their difficulty and the skill that is required to complete their games, however up until now the games, while RPG, were mostly linear in the way they were played.

Elden Ring is promising to be an open world RPG, something From Software has not really done before, especially in this genre. It will be interesting and challenging to do some familiar exploration of the standard open-world RPGs in a Souls-like setting.

In the recent closed network test of Elden Ring, the players were presented with 5 preset characters to choose from, though robust character creation is definitely something we’re expecting, as more recent From Software games have seen a notable improvement in customisation.

According to the VGC’s report yesterday, during the same closed network test of Elden Ring, the incomplete character creator for the game was leaked.

The incomplete menu is functional, though incomplete, so the hope is that the completed, fully functional menu will be available at launch.

Check out the below YouTube video showing the leaked Elden Ring character creator.

Looks well designed, but incomplete, so here’s to hoping that Elden Ring comes to us bug-free and most importantly, complete.

Elden Ring will be out on February 25th 2022 on the PC and all consoles. Watch this space for our review.
